This is a simple simulation of sea level rise using topographic data observed by JAXA's earth observation satellite "DAICHI". Let's observe the terrain features in the world.

Source Code on the Observable

Note: This simulator is different from the hazard map because it only fills in blue the areas below a certain height in the terrain data. Disaster prevention measures such as embankments and deformation of the earth's crust due to the weight of seawater (hydroisostasy) are not considered. Please check the hazard maps published by each local government for the actual dangers of floods and tsunamis.

By using the JAXA Earth API, you can easily perform analyses using such Earth observation data in a JavaScript or Python programming environment.
